The View

I couldn't decide exactly how I wanted to compose an image of this rock formation - I wanted something different, something interesting - so I took several different shots. Even now it's tough to decide which I like best, but I'm leaning towards this one. This is taken from near the top of Bell Rock. We are up high enough now that some of the snow from the night before is still visible in the foreground.

I have been totally overwhelmed again lately. Sorry I've been so lousy about commenting on your photos. I do visit every time I have a few free minutes. I hope you all are well and I hope to "see" you more soon.

Just catching up, so belated anniversary congratulations. That's wonderful. And you got to take photos on your anniversary trip -- now that's nice! I like this shot, especially the wood in the foreground which adds real interest.

Picking the best of multiple good shots is more time-consuming than it would seem. While I like the butte in the background, and the color is very good, I do find myself thinking that with the wood branch in the foreground that it kind of demands being the focal point, and it may have been even more interesting if you could have gotten a lower angle where it extended out into that area of sky to the left of the butte. Of course, that's easy for me to say from the comfort of my couch. A remarkable view nonetheless.

@Restoration Rake: Thanks. And, yes, aside from removing a few specks of sensor dirt, this is the original. I use a circular polarizing filter on sunny days - it helps cut the glare and deepen the colors, too.
