Succulent

As much as I'm enjoying shooting with my new zoom, I have really been missing my first love - macro photography. In this next series of succulents and cacti I'm also venturing into new territory for me, though. Many of the images are more abstract, more subjective than I usually shoot for. I'd love to hear what you think about these. Thanks.

I have been totally overwhelmed again lately. Sorry I've been so lousy about commenting on your photos. I do visit every time I have a few free minutes. I hope you all are well and I hope to "see" you more soon.

just succulent! (hehe -- excuse the bad pun!) no seriously... wonderful lighting here and beautiful soft color! i love the handsome forms of the plum leaves... just marvelous!!

Willow you just keep on exploring, abstract is something that frees you from the confines of what is accepted .Images should be how you want them and that maybe distorted or out of focus or ugly to conventional eyes. The basic premises do stand you in good stead, balance and composition, but the rest is up to what intrigues YOU !! If you create something that gets people talking and thinking then you have succeeded! The colors and light in this shot are lovely, if you cropped the bottom third off what would happen???

@Maxine: Thanks, Maxine. I like your philosophy - the work that we display on these pages is ours to decide what looks right in our eyes. I played with cropping this one a number of different ways and it looked different every time. This was my favorite.
